Two sisters, two love stories, one unforgettable day in Zurich. When these two newlywed couples reached out to me from the USA, their idea was simple but deeply meaningful: to celebrate their marriages in the city where their family roots began. Zurich became not only a backdrop, but a bridge between generations, love, and memory.
The two sisters had both recently celebrated their weddings in the United States. Yet they wanted something even more personal! A moment that would connect them to their family’s past in Switzerland. Their grandparents were still living in Zurich, and returning here felt like bringing the story full circle. This wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was a reunion of history, emotion, and belonging.
For the photos, we chose the Stadthaus Zürich, the city’s historic town hall and a popular location for civil weddings in Switzerland. The building’s grand stone façade and elegant interior make it one of the most iconic places for wedding portraits in Zurich. Its architecture captures the essence of old Swiss charm — stately, timeless, and full of light that reflects beautifully for photographs.
Inside, marble details and large windows create a soft, romantic atmosphere. Outside, the quiet square around the Stadthaus allowed us to capture candid moments between the couples, filled with laughter and connection.
After the formal portraits, we wandered through Zurich’s old town. The city gave us its best - colorful corners, cobblestone streets, light shimmering on the Limmat River, and a gentle autumn breeze. It actually finished raining just a few minutes before - so the vibe was pretty epic! These moments became some of my favorite frames, the kind of photos that will feel alive long after they’re taken.
